The 3rd Annual Morristown Area Chamber of Commerce Small
Business Awards of Excellence honored four Hamblen County
businesses for excellence, community contributions, and
innovation and adaptation this morning.
The breakfast event, hosted by the Chamber at the Holiday Inn
Conference Center, also recognized a relative newcomer to the
business scene in Morristown.
The awards were presented for four business categories: 1-10
employees, 11-25 employees, 26-49 employees and 50-100
employees.
Approximately 140 Lakeway Area business leaders and associates
were present for the presentations.
The first award, presented by Greg Jones, with Jones Heat and
Air, went to The Nail Shoppe and its owners, sisters Donna
Word and Darla Dunn.
The business was opened in 1994 to offer professional services
promoting self-confidence and self-esteem.
From its small beginnings with a single dryer chair and a box
of supplies nearby, The Nail Shoppe now is a full-service
business offering customers a wide range of services.
The Nail Shoppe actively supports community agencies such as
the Boys and Girls Club of Morristown, ALPS, All Saints’
Episcopal School and the Morristown Senior Citizens Center.
They also support the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the
annual Citizen Tribune Holiday Hope Fund-Toys for Tots
program.
“When visiting this business, you will always find smiling
faces and a staff that is eager to please,” Jones said.
